Pictures don’t do this handsome guy justice. This distinguished well behaved gentleman likes to take walks and is great with all people. This calm and laid-back boy is also kennel trained.

His perfect forever home would be a home without any other dogs or cats. Who can give this handsome boy a relaxing home to live out his golden years?

Russell

Breed: Labrador retriever mix

Age: 1 year old

Are you looking for your new best friend? Russell has the most beautiful chocolate brown eyes you’ve ever seen, and it’s easy to get lost in them. He came to Wayside from another state as part of a partner transfer.

Everything was so new to him at such a young age, so he was enrolled in the Confidence College program at our Canine Behavior Center. He’s learned that he enjoys being with people, and other dogs. He is so confident with his loyal dog friends that he’ll need a home with another playful dog. Russell also loves to play fetch, and enjoys tennis balls and squeaky toys. He’s a ball of fun, but he also knows how to chill on the couch and snuggle.

All he’s looking for is a family of his very own. Are you the right fit? Call 816-986-4426 to schedule a time to meet Russell.

Ziggy

Breed: Domestic shorthair, tabby

Age: 5 years old

Ziggy is here to make your day. She has a lovely purr-sonality. She lived in a home her entire life, until family emergencies meant Ziggy’s owners made the difficult decision to surrender her for adoption. They loved her very much and knew Wayside was the place for her to find her new forever home.

Ziggy had a tough time adjusting to shelter life. After being in a home, it can be tough. She waited for staff and volunteers to visit her and craved attention so much that we sent her to foster so she could get all the attention she wanted. Her foster mom had a resident cat, and Ziggy got along with them just fine. She was less stressed, and became her cuddly self again.

She could snuggle, play and nap whenever she wanted, and that was a sweet gig. Ziggy is so ready for a permanent home. She’s ready to find that person or family to enjoy and spend time with for the rest of her days. Could that be you? Come meet Ziggy today.
