Hi all,

Happy Wednesday! How did everyone fare at the fair last weekend? I hope my little guide helped you through. This week, there isn't quite as much to go and do. Instead, flip on your TV to see a familiar face, call Canino's for a final reservation or say hello to Mr. Yo in Campus West. Here's what to know...

...This week

CSU professor back on the small screen

Are you watching NBC's latest season of "Who Do You Think You Are?" If so, you might have recently caught a familiar face gracing your TV screen. For the third time in the show's history, CSU history professor Ann Little was featured as an on-screen expert − this time helping "Chuck" actor Zachary Levi unravel his ancestors' witch trial fate in Colonial America. If you're not afraid of spoilers, check out my story on the episode, including some of Little's thoughts on the show and Levi's search.

See ya, Canino's

After 46 years in Fort Collins, longtime Italian eatery Canino's is closing by the end of this year as its owner, Clyde Canino, prepares to retire. The restaurant − which has remained largely untouched on South College Avenue − has had nearly half a century to collect stories. Coloradoan reporter Pat Ferrier tells them beautifully in this subscribers-only feature on Clyde and his creation. Don't miss the part about the mythical spumoni ice cream.

Hello, Mr. Yo

A Windsor doughnut shop is on the rise with its recent expansion into Fort Collins. Mr. Yo's Donut, owned by Windsor couple Hyo and Susanna Jang, opened at 1335 W. Elizabeth St. Monday. The shop marks a new chapter for the Jangs, who opened Mr. Yo's Donut on Windsor's Main Street nearly a decade ago. Mr. Yo's Donut serves up doughnuts made fresh daily, with classic glazed and cake varieties to long johns, jelly-filled, cinnamon roll and croissant doughnuts.

This week's must-see

Why run a race when you can just watch footage of it linked in a newsletter several days later? The Human Race and Mountain Avenue Mile both returned to Fort Collins over the weekend, drawing runners and crowds with them. See what onlookers saw with these photos and videos from both the Human Race and Mountain Avenue Mile.

That's it this week for me, friends. Have a safe and happy weekend.

Yours in making a final Canino's reservation (😔),

Erin
