Catch famed comic Lewis Black’s farewell tour. Among new shows added in Modesto region

You can catch one of the final shows performed by acerbic comic Lewis Black at the Gallo Center for the Arts, among other shows added to this season’s lineup.

A Christmas show by Stockton native Chris Isaak also has been picked up at the downtown Modesto venue, along with a spring performance by Kool & the Gang.

Turlock Community Theatre also has added shows to its season, including classic rock singer Melissa Etheridge.

Black, known for his rants about life’s absurdities, recently announced he’ll retire from stand-up comedy after next year.

His “Goodbye Yeller Brick Road” tour will pull into the Gallo Center in January.
