Catch up on the most recent restaurant openings and developments
Hello, Spartanburg foodies!
Last week, I went to visit Blue Moon Specialty Food owners Chris Walker and Molly Cashman at the site of their latest project, Blue Moon Bodega. The new location will be the restaurant's second in the city and will feature a grocery store-like retail component in addition to a cafe and wholesale warehouse.
So far, Walker and Cashman have added over 3,000 square feet of additional space to the property, located on E. Daniel Morgan Avenue.
The Blue Moon Bodega project is moving fast — they even managed to finish painting the exterior of the building since we went out for photos. Check it out on their Instagram!

The story also includes updates from Holliday Brewing, Cribbs Kitchen Tyger River, and Little River Roasting at Fretwell.
I also visited Main Street Pub to talk about their plans for renovation. The downtown restaurant will be nearly doubling its footprint next year.

New in town
Speaking of developments, Spartanburg has seen a number of new restaurants open in and near the city. Here are some of the most recent:
Health in Hand officially opened its second location in Tyger River Plaza Monday. The new, larger location offers all the menu items of the downtown location and a new retail section.

Downtown has a new fine dining option in Prime Restaurant and Whiskey Lounge. The new restaurant in the old Peddler location offers steaks and a variety of seafood (Swordfish! Oysters Rockefeller!) as well as 26 varieties of whiskey.

For those who haven't been to the mall lately, you may want to swing by and visit their latest tenant. Artessence, an art-themed coffee shop and cafe, opened in Westgate Mall last month. The shop offers a variety of coffee drinks, sandwiches, salads and more named for the famous artists the shop is dedicated to, plus coloring sheets for all ages!
