Coachella Valley residents and visitors can celebrate Mexican Independence Day on Saturday by attending the Michelada Festival in Cathedral City.

Luchador Brewing Company is organizing the valley's first "Mi Chavela Fest" at its restaurant and the city's adjacent festival lawn. The event will feature entertainment such as lucha libre matches and a low rider car show in addition to serving food and drinks such as — you guessed it — micheladas.

What will the event entail?

The festival will have live music from artists like Mariachi Estrella and various DJs. There will be lucha libra matches at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., a mechanical bull and a low rider car show. Kids will also be entertained with face painting.

Vendors will be selling food and drinks for an additional cost. Attendees will be able to buy the mix from vendors and then go buy beer from Luchador Brewing Company for their micheladas.

When and where will it be held?

It will be held at Luchador Brewing Company, located at 68-510 E. Palm Canyon Drive #140 in Cathedral City, from 4 to 11 p.m on Sept. 16. It will also be outdoors on the city's festival lawn.

How can you buy tickets?

Pre-sale tickets can be purchased online MiChavelaFest.eventbrite.com for $15, but tickets will also be sold for $20 at the door if they are not sold out.
