Long-time Tesla bull and Elon Musk supporter Cathie Wood thinks the billionaire's ownership of the social media platform is exactly what it needs.

"I am kind of excited to see what Elon will do," the noted tech investor told Yahoo Finance Live in an exclusive and wide-ranging interview on Thursday (full video above). "I actually think he will work closely with [Twitter Founder] Jack Dorsey and maybe open up the ecosystem, take away the censorship, make it much more transparent, and I think add more value to the ecosystem."

Musk may be about to get his shot at running Twitter.

Musk confidentially filed a letter in the Delaware Chancery Court recently seeking to proceed with the Twitter deal on its original terms. The reversal comes as Musk was slated to be deposed by Twitter's lawyers in the company's lawsuit, which sought to enforce the buyout contract.

For months, Musk has slammed Twitter's business for not revealing enough information about the number of fake accounts on the platform. Musk also butted heads with Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal while worried employees started to leave the social media platform.

The Tesla founder is widely expected to clean house in the C-suite should the Twitter deal close, and then go to work creating what he calls a "super app."

Wood thinks Musk will also help clean up the content on the platform.

"I think there is a lot of wisdom out there," Wood said. "We are kind of sick of the nonsense that we see on some of these social media platforms and Twitter. I think Musk is going to give us more tools to filter out the nonsense and get right down to business."
