Catholic’s Cate Carlson named TCIS Player of the Year. Crusaders boys coach Bobby Steinburg named Coach of the Year

Catholic High senior Cate Carlson was named the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools Player of the Year.

Carlson, who will play on a full scholarship next year for William & Mary, helped lead the Crusaders to the TCIS regular-season title. She has scored more than 2,000 career points.

Steward’s Kara Bacile was named the TCIS Coach of the Year, and Steward received the Betty Jean Riddick Sportsmanship Award.

On the boys side, Steward’s Curtis Blair III was named the Tidewater Conference Player of the Year.

Catholic coach Bobby Steinburg was named Coach of the Year, and Norfolk Christian received the Betty Jean Riddick Sportsmanship Award.
