CATS committee interviews last candidate for the CEO position

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Capital Area Transit System (CATS) is one step closer to finding their next CEO as the nationwide search continues.

The board interviewed the final candidate on Thursday morning. The current interim CEO is also amongst those five in the running.

Commissioner Johnathan Hill said the committee will then choose their top three candidates for a final review in the next few weeks and they hope to have a new CEO by early spring.

“We also want somebody who has vocation, who understands transit, the industry, the technology, the evolving trends, how it plays into the larger ecosystem of the community. Somebody who doesn’t work in a vacuum, who can really get out into the community and be the fabric and advocate for public transit,” said Hill.
