Cattle truck overturns on I-70E ramp to I-270N on Columbus' West Side
A trailer truck carrying 32 cattle overturned Tuesday night on the ramp from I-70 East to to I-270 North, Columbus police reported.
Police responded around 8:30 p.m. to the crash, which closed the ramp. The driver was treated on scene for minor injuries.
At least one cow got loose and was wandering in the shoulder area of I-270 near West Broad Street before it was captured, according to police dispatch.
The status of the other cattle — including whether any were injured or killed in the crash— was not immediately clear. Columbus police had not released a report on the incident as of early Wednesday afternoon.

By 9 p.m., however, police were contacting the Ohio Department of Agriculture and Ohio State University to see about possible resources for removing the cattle and placing them in a replacement trailer, dispatch said. The Columbus police Mounted Patrol Unit's trailer was brought to the scene to put some of the cattle in.
