A month after her death, a medical examiner’s office has revealed that “16 and Pregnant” star Jordan Cashmyer died from drug intoxication.

The 26-year-old Maryland native died on Jan. 15 and on Wednesday, the Office of Chief Medical Examiner for the Maryland Department of Health announced that she died of an overdose.

“The cause of death is fentanyl and cocaine intoxication, and the manner of death is undetermined,” a representative from the medical examiner’s office told Oxygen.com via email on Thursday.

“Undetermined” means it is unclear if the fatal intoxication was intentional or accidental.

Shortly after her death last month, Cashmyer’s representative, Howard “Howie” Wood, put out a statement saying that she “sounded happy and healthy” the last time he spoke to her, Us Weekly reports.

“I wish people had the opportunity to know her away from her struggles as she was a very sweet and kind hearted person,” he stated. “I’m grateful I had the chance to know and work with her all these years. Life was not always good to her and I hope now she is in a better place. RIP sweet girl.”

In an online fundraiser for funeral costs, her family stated, “Addiction plagues many families, and our family was not immune to it.”

They noted that Jordan’s 7-month-old daughter Lyla lost her father to addiction just five months prior. She also had a 7-year-old daughter Genevieve, whose birth was featured on an episode of MTV’s “16 and Pregnant” in 2014. A year after the episode aired, Jordan signed away custody rights to the family of the baby’s father, according to US Weekly. In the ensuing years, Jordan was arrested for drug possession on several occasions, though she celebrated one year of sobriety in 2021.

“We pray Jordan is finally at peace,” her family stated on her fundraiser.
