Cave Hill Cemetery honey | Southern Indiana getaways | 60+ things to do

It's July and the CJ Features team is all over the place. We're visiting distilleries, driving out to Southern Indiana, tasting locally-produced honey and checking every calendar in the world for events.

Leave some room in your schedule in the next couple weeks, because some of these events are amazing. Take a look at some of our features from this week, here:

A sweet surprise in Cave Hill Cemetery — Cave Hill Cemetery is well-known for its historic status, size and the final resting place of some of Kentucky's most prominent citizens. But deep in the cemetery is something you may not know: 10 honeybee hives that produce nearly 900 pounds of honey per season. The cemetery staff have become beekeepers. I visited the cemetery to tell you what's up with that.

Read up on it here.

Louisville poet's tribute — Features intern Genesis Malone talked to Louisville native poet Mackenzie Berry, who wrote the book "Slack Tongue City," which wrestles with the position of the South and Louisville's place in it. One of the poems references the police killing of Breonna Taylor. Overall, the poetry book is a love letter to Louisville.

Thanks for reading, everyone! We appreciate you!
