CaveFest: Three-day festival returns to The Caverns in October

CaveFest — a fall music festival bringing fan-favorite jam and bluegrass bands to the one-of-a-kind Caverns venue in Grundy County, Tennessee — returns for an encore year this October.

After a sold-out inaugural event in 2022, the festival expands to three nights in its second year — running Oct. 6-8 on the Cavern grounds. Headlining performers include Sam Bush, Leftover Salmon, Infamous Stringdusters, Travelin' McCourys and Peter Rowan. Additional artists billed to perform include Jim Lauderdale, The Lil Smokies, Town Mountain, and Lindsay Lou, the so-called "queen of CaveFest."

Tickets go on sale Wednesday at noon via thecaverns.com.

“CaveFest was a dream come true last year, an ideal festival featuring favorite bands in the bestautumn weather in the perfect place," Caverns owner Todd Mayo said in a press statement. "Glad this dream is recurring and we’re excited to see the event grow to three days in 2023."

CaveFest takes place inside and above The Caverns, a prehistoric cave known for hosting sought-after concerts in rural Pelham, Tennessee, roughly 80 miles southeast of Nashville. One dollar from all tickets purchased to CaveFest benefits the Sewanee Mountain Grotto to support cave conservation efforts, according to a news release.

The festival boasts two stages — the above-ground Caverns Amphitheater and its sister stage inside the cave. The amphitheater hosts headlining performances, while sets from support acts and freewheelin' jam sessions take place inside The Caverns.

Additional attractions include cave yoga, on-site camping, food trucks and cave tours. Ticket packages start at $129 before fees. For the full festival lineup and additional ticket package information, visit thecaverns.com.
