The third-seeded Xavier Musketeers, back in the NCAA tournament for the first time since they were a No. 1 seed in 2018, will play a first-round game Friday against 14th-seeded Kennesaw State in Greensboro.

College basketball analyst Clark Kellogg indicated during CBS' selection show Sunday that he thinks it will be the first of several wins for XU en route to the Muskies' first-ever Final Four appearance.

"Xavier's a team that I've had my eye on all season long," Kellogg said during Sunday's selection show on CBS. "High-octane offensively. They lost Zach Freemantle. That gives them a little bit of an issue. But they've become a little better defensively of late despite the loss to Marquette in the Big East championship game. So this is a team that I would keep an eye on in this bracket."

Another team in Kellogg's Final Four, Gonzaga, edged XU, 88-84, in the Phil Knight Legacy event in Portland, Oregon, in November. The Bulldogs were the team Kellogg selected as his national champion.

Earlier in CBS' show, analyst Seth Davis said he expects Pitt to win a pair of games and meet XU in the second round of the tournament.
