LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Super Bowl LVIII is nearly here and the Las Vegas valley is expecting visitors to flood the Strip, including the hosts of CBS’s “The Talk.”

Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell and Sheryl Underwood are all expected to come to Las Vegas.

Morales proved to be not only an award-winning journalist and host, but also a thrill seeker. She got a jumpstart on Super Bowl coverage and dived for Skyjump Las Vegas at The STRAT Friday — a move sure to be “the talk” of Sin City, Morales dived bout 830 feet at 40 miles per hour.

The adventure was filmed for a promotional video to air Feb. 5.

“I don’t think you get a view and a perspective of Las Vegas and of the Strip as you do from way up there,” Morales said. “It’s awe-inspiring and breathtaking and it is scary as bleep!”

While Morales couldn’t reveal all the secrets, viewers can expect to see her and fellow hosts thriving in Las Vegas shows, and getting up close and personal in all the NFL fun during the whole week leading up to the Super Bowl.

Morales has covered her fair share of Vegas headliners and headlines, including the 1 October shooting at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival in 2017.

“It was just so horrific to see Las Vegas shut down that way and to see the tragedy that happened here. I’m so glad to be back in a way where we can celebrate what this great city has to offer and to see how people still think of all of those who were lost on that day and remembered in their own way,” Morales said. “At the same time, this is a city that keeps on going. It doesn’t stop.”

“There is no better place to host the Super Bowl than Las Vegas,” Morales said.

And as she pointed out, what is Las Vegas without Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton?  Morales joked that would be like Disney without Mickey Mouse.

He and a couple showgirls appeared in the promotional shoot to welcome Morales to Las Vegas.

“My favorite part of Las Vegas are the people who live here, the people who bring happiness to people every day,” Newton said. “That’s what they’ve done for me from the time I was 15 years old when I came here.”

Newton had a few recommendations for the visitors coming.

“Wayne Newton at the Flamingo. I’d see that show. If I were you. I know a lot about it, but I don’t want to get into that. The other thing is you couldn’t go wrong. The best restaurants, the best shopping, the best view whatever you want to see and whatever you want to do — Las Vegas has it,” he said.

To catch the full shoot and the actual leap out of the Strat tower, tune in to “The Talk” on Monday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. on 8 News Now.
