CBS Sports names Jadon Haselwood as one of top replacements in nation

Arkansas Football had a tremendous season on offense in 2021, where they led the Southeastern Conference in rushing by averaging 278 yards per game.

In 2022, the Razorbacks look to keep trending upward with the return of quarterback KJ Jefferson and offensive coordinator Kendal Briles. One key piece that’s not returning to the offense is wide receiver Treylon Burkes, who announced his plans to enter the NFL Draft prior to the Outback Bowl.

How do the Razorbacks plan to keep moving forward when a key piece has moved on? According to Chip Patterson of CBS Sports, the name to watch for is Oklahoma transfer Jadon Haselwood.

In the article, Patterson says he believes that Haselwood could handle the same workload that Burks took on at Arkansas:

“Burks meant a ton to Arkansas’ offense, and passing game in particular, but Sam Pittman has a great option to replace his production with Haselwood, a former five-star prospect who rated as the No. 1 wide receiver and No. 4 overall prospect in the 2019 recruiting class. After limited action in 2019, a knee injury in April 2020 impacted his contributions to the program, though he worked his way back into full health and did log 39 receptions for 399 yards and six touchdowns in 2021. Burks was a high-volume receiving threat, and Haselwood has the ceiling to turn that same workload into a breakout year and the fulfillment of those five-star projections.”

Haselwood announced his decision to transfer to Arkansas in December and is on campus preparing to compete in spring practice.
