CBS4 Chief Meteorologist Craig Setzer has your Wednesday evening weather forecast.
ELIOTT RODRIGUEZ: Let's take a look at our weather. Another beautiful day. A little warm.
LAUREN PASTRANA: A little warm, but it's going to cool down soon right, Craig Setzer?
CRAIG SETZER: That's right. The word is out. A cold front's coming. It's going to break the heat, give us some relief from the early spring warmth. And it's going to be pretty, little cooler and pretty breezy. Here's what's going on right now. Our Windjammer Resort camera this afternoon. Plenty of blue out there. Just some gentle waves breaking on the beaches there. But the waves are going to be coming up as the wind comes up starting on Friday and especially Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures 83 across the board. Stickiness scale is a 5, fairly humid, feels like 86. A southeast breeze at 13.
Radar now showing some showers and some thunderstorms going up, especially to the northwest of us, parts of the middle of the peninsula there. This is a sign that the atmosphere is moistening up. And tomorrow when this cold front comes through, it's also going to trigger some showers and thunderstorms ahead of it. So our chances of rain pretty good, about the highest they've been in some time by tomorrow afternoon. Look at the overnight lows. 66 is the normal, mid 70s. These temperatures, which are our lows this morning, are going to be our highs on Friday.
We're going to take a pretty big temperature drop with that front. Feels like temperatures right now in the mid to upper 80s. And the wind out of the south to southeast, anywhere from about 8 to 15 miles an hour. Satellite [? loop ?] through the day today showing clouds moving from southeast to northwest. As we look to the southeast, just a little bit of moisture over here in the northwest Bahamas near Andros Island. That's going to give us a slight chance for a shower overnight tonight. And then tomorrow, the cold front comes into Florida. It's pushing to the southeast and will bring us a better chance for mainly afternoon storms.
Tonight, lows once again in the 70s. There's the front in North Florida by tomorrow morning. Tomorrow, we are still ahead of it. So we're calling it a Thursday night front, because tomorrow during the day, temperatures still in the 80s. But look at the 70s, 60s, even 50s for afternoon temperatures across North Florida. Tomorrow night, woosh, the cooler air comes in. Lows in the 30s along the Georgia border. 40s all the way down to Fort Myers, maybe even Naples. 50s coming into South Florida. And most of us will see temperatures in the low 60s.
Then on Friday, we hardly warm up at all. Temperatures in the low to mid 70s for highs. In fact, you can see the cold front showing up on the national map there, pushing down those warm temperatures, just the East Coast and the Southeast in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Everybody else in the 30s, 40s, and 50s. Our forecast for tonight, looking pretty good. A warm night, some stray showers move in later on. Low temperature once again in the mid 70s. Then for tomorrow, look for warm and humid conditions with afternoon storms developing.
Some could be a little bit on the heavy side. That's the sound of thunder you hear. That's right, with that graphic. High temperature near 86 degrees. On the Marine Forecast, southwest winds at 10. Seas 1 and 2 feet. But the winds really come up on Friday, taking us through the weekend. Warm, humid afternoon storms and then cooler breeze in the weekend. 70s for highs, 60s for lows. Back to you.
