CBS4 Chief Meteorologist Craig Setzer has your Thursday evening weather forecast.
- Now, CBS 4 weather with chief meteorologist Craig Setzer.
CRAIG SETZER: Well, nice evening. Here's our Keys camera this evening. Unlike yesterday, where we had all the clouds around, it's going to be a great, great sunset this evening. The sun dropping down there, and it's going to be perfect. In terms of temperatures right now, they are not bad for late April. 82 in Miami. 80, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, 83 in Key West. Stickiness scale's a four, a little bit on the humid side, but not too bad. Feels like 84 right now. East wind at eight, and no rain today.
But radar showing a few little showers have popped up on the east coast sea breeze. That's been slowly working its way up in Palm Beach County, as well as northern Broward County. And in central Broward right now, just over Pembroke Pines, just a little heavy shower that's working its way to the southeast as we go through the evening hours. That activity is going to die down. May see a little stray shower pop up in Miami-Dade as well, but that should be about it. We're about done with that.
Temperatures for highs today. Normal high's 84. We were right around there through the day today. Temperatures, with a mix of sun and clouds, not warming up too much. And current temperatures are still in the upper 70s to the low 80s right now. Going to be a nice evening. There's the breeze out of the east, anywhere from about eight to 13 miles an hour. That breeze is going to pick up a little bit tomorrow, so a little bit breezier, but really no problems. Eventually, that breeze is going to turn southeast and bring the warmth back in.
Satellite loop through the day today showing the clouds passing through from time to time. Bigger picture showing mostly clear skies to the North and Central Florida. We're just kind of trapped in this moisture down here. The moisture is going to pull away just a little bit more tomorrow, so looking pretty good. Maybe some morning showers, just a few morning showers.
Then, as we go into Saturday, starting our warm-up as winds turn more southerly. Best chance for storms will be to the north of South Florida. And on Sunday, a better chance for storms late in the day Sunday, but it's also going to be hot, with temperatures in the low 90s. And eventually, a cold front is going to come through. Not a strong one, but it is going to be enough to drop temperatures back and keep us out of the 90s by the middle of next week.
Look at this mess in the Northeast. Big upper-level low, and lots of clouds and snow. Snow falling from the Great Lakes to the Ohio Valley into the Northeast. Very chilly up there. Our forecast tonight, it's looking pretty good. We will see a stray shower this evening. Otherwise, a nice low temperature in the low 70s. Tomorrow, look for a mix of sun and clouds. A few morning showers. Other than that, the breeze picks up temperatures. Not bad at all, in the low 80s for highs.
On the water, winds out of the east-northeast at 15. Seas running two to four feet, a moderate chop on the bays. Taking us through the weekend. After tomorrow, it's a big warm-up, to 90 on Sunday. Chance for afternoon storms. Also some spotty storms Monday, and then temperatures fall back middle of next week. Back to you.
