CBS4 Chief Meteorologist Craig Setzer has your Thursday night weather forecast.
- Now, CBS 4 Weather with Chief Meteorologist Craig Setzer.
CRAIG SETZER: Well, another nice evening. Things are quiet, calm, not too humid, not too warm, just about right. Here's our Keys cam here this evening where we're looking at Mallory Square and Sunset Key out there. Things looking good. Temperatures are not too bad. 71 in Miami, 73, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, 72 in Key West. Stickiness scale is a 1 in the air, relatively dry.
Humidity is 66%. East Southeast breeze at 9. That's been-- that's been I think for the last three days. I think it's stuck there. Here's what's going on temperature wise today. Low 80s, upper 70s, normal high is 82, but we're gradually creeping up temperature wise, and we'll continue to do that until we reach the weekend when temperatures will go up a little more quickly. Also, the humidity will be coming back on Sunday.
Current temperatures right now though, everybody's in the upper 60s to the low 70s. It's going to be a nice night. And low is mainly in the 60s, maybe a few spots briefly well in and touching the upper 50s. The breeze is starting to turn a little more southeasterly. That's going to keep our overnight lows up a little bit higher tonight, not as cool, and get our warming underway as we go into the weekend, 6 to 17 miles an hour, blowing pretty good this evening in Pompano Beach.
Satellite look through the day to day, not much to talk about here. Not much to talk about over the states. Some earlier thunderstorms died down Northeast Gulf, and that cloudiness went on away. Overnight lows tonight are going to be in the 60s here in South Florida. The 50s pretty much further inland. Than, tomorrow, it's back into the low 80s for highs. Tomorrow night, not as cool.
Lows well into the mid to upper 60s, even some 70s right along the beaches. And then on Saturday, we're warming up. Temperatures 90s inland areas, 80s along the coast, and even warmer expected on Sunday. That's nice-- this nice dry air that we've been seeing late, it hangs around through Saturday, but then, by Sunday, comes a batch of higher humidity into the area. It'll be noticeably more humid, a better chance for thunderstorms late on Sunday as well as on Monday.
Big low pressure area. Look at that spinning through the middle of the country. Big spring low pressure system and a big trailing cold front kind of wrapped around it. That front is not going to come through, but another front coming our way will at least push some moisture-- push some moisture in and give us a better chance of thunderstorms late in the weekend. Till then though, it's going to warm up for tonight. It's not a bad night. Nice nights Midland, fog low in the mid 60s.
Tomorrow, look for a good deal of sunshine once again, but get a little bit warmer now, a gentle breeze a high temperature near 82 degrees. On the water winds Southeast at 10, but the winds are going to be coming up on Saturday and Sunday out of the South and Southeast. Taking us through the weekend, there's a big warm up, chance for storms late on Sunday, better rain chance though on Monday. Back to you.
