CBS4 News chief meteorologist Craig Setzer's weather outlook for South Florida.
- In his backyard this time. Right, Craig? It's looking beautiful out there.
CRAIG SETZER: Yeah, they've got it mixed up a little bit, right? And when it's still this nice this time of year, and not too hot and humid, gotta get outside. Friday afternoon, it's looking very, very nice. Here's our Rusty Pelican camera catching some boats going by. It's gonna be a very warm weekend, and a good weekend for boating, although the breeze is going to come up just a little bit.
Temperatures right now across South Florida, 78 Miami, 77 Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood. 81 in Key West. The humidity is starting to come up just a little bit. It's going to come up a little bit more tomorrow, and then on Sunday come up substantially more. It'll feel definitely warm and humid for Sunday, and that should stick around through Monday, as well. South southeast breeze at 16, gusting up to 23 miles an hour.
Lows this morning, this is just about the end of these very comfortable overnight lows in the 60s. Once again tomorrow morning will be in the 60s and 70s, and then 70s after that, so it's been a nice week. It's been a good run. Unfortunately in the springtime all cool periods come to an end. Temperatures right now in the upper 70s to the low 80s. The breeze out of the east southeast, the south southeast, anywhere from 12 to 17 miles an hour as we go through the night. Tonight the breeze is going to drop down a little bit, but it's going to stick around through the weekend. In fact, pick up.
Lows tonight once again in the 60s throughout the state. A few low 70s right along the coast. Tomorrow look for a good deal of sunshine, and getting warmer. Mid 80s, even some upper 80s and low 90s inland. Tomorrow night, lows will once again be not as cool as they've been, mainly in the 70s here in South Florida. And then, on Sunday, the state really split in half by a cold front that probably will stay to our north, but thunderstorms from the front will be moving our way by later on Sunday. We could make it into the upper 80s here, even to around 90 in a few spots, while North Florida stays in the 60s and 70s and clouds. That's for Sunday. But, all in all, I think our weekend is looking pretty good.
Look at the south and southeast. Lots of those yellow boxes. Those are severe thunderstorm watches. A lot of stormy spring weather through much of the south and southeast part of the country. Temperature-wise, it is warm through the south. 82 in Dallas, 82 in Houston, and not too bad in the east. Temperatures mainly in the 50s, 60s, and some 70s. Here's our forecast for tonight. Not bad at all. A nice night, not as cool as it's been. Lows in the mid to upper 60s and low 70s for tomorrow. Look for a good deal of sunshine.
Warming up, temperatures in the mid 80s for highs, and a little bit more humid. The humidity comes up even more, though, on Sunday. On the water, winds out of the southeast at 15 to 20, and taking us through the weekend into next week, look at that. Upper 80s for Sunday and Monday. Chance for storms late Sunday, Sunday night into Monday, and then next week looking a little more spring-like than we've seen of late. Back to you.
