CC Movie Nights: Free film event returns to Whataburger Field in October

Whataburger Field is bringing back free movies throughout October for its third year.

CC Movie Nights will present four films to the public with gates opening at 6 p.m. and showtimes starting at 7 p.m. Seating will be open in the outfield and seating bowl. Traditional ballpark food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Movie schedule

  • Saturday, Oct. 1: "Sing 2" will be shown. It is rated PG and has a runtime of one hour and 50 minutes. The 2021 sequel to 2016's "Sing" stars Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon and Scarlett Johansson. Buster and his new crew have their sights set on debuting a new show in Redshore City, but with no connections, the group must figure out a way to cast a rock legend for their dreams to come to fruition.

  • Saturday, Oct. 8: "Encanto" will be shown. It is rated PG and has a runtime of one hour and 49 minutes. The 2021 film stars Stephanie Beatriz, Jessica Darrow and John Leguizamo. It tells the tale of the Madrigals, a magical family who live in the mountains of Colombia. When the family magic is in danger, Mirabel — the only member without a gift — realizes she is her family's last hope.

  • Saturday, Oct. 15: "Spider-Man: No Way Home" will be shown. It is rated PG-13 and has a runtime of two hours and 28 minutes. The 2021 film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe's series stars Tom Holland, Zendaya and Benedict Cumberbatch. At the end of 2019's "Spider-Man: Far From Home," Peter Parker's identity as Spider-Man was unveiled by Mysterio. No longer able to separate his normal life from his superhero life, he turns to fellow Avenger Doctor Strange to cast a spell for nearly the entire world to forget he is Spider-Man. Unfortunately, the spell backfires and now Peter has to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

  • Thursday, Oct. 27: "Hotel Transylvania" will be shown. It is rated PG and has a runtime of one hour and 31 minutes. The 2012 film stars Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg and Selena Gomez. The first in the franchise introduces Hotel Transylvania, a resort where monsters and their families can live with no humans around. At his daughter's 118th birthday, Dracula's planned party is taken for a spin when a human stumbles into his hotel.

Moviegoers FAQ

May I bring my own food and beverages? Outside food and beverages are not allowed in the ballpark. Limited concession items including hot dogs, popcorn, candy, water, soda and beer will be available for purchase.

May I bring a lawn chair? No, but guests are encouraged to bring blankets.

Will restrooms be open? Yes, men's, women's and family restrooms will be open.

How much is parking? Parking is free.

May we play catch on the field? No gloves or balls will be allowed during CC Movie Nights. Catch and horseplay is forbidden.
