CC's Daiquiris re-opens in downtown Montgomery

For four years, Candy Capel worked hard to make her dream come true. For four years, she never gave up on re-opening CC's Daiquiris.

“This is a story of faith and perseverance," Capel said.

So it was a happy day for her Friday when Capel along with her partners, Orlando Cannon and Charles Lewis, cut the ribbon signifying the re-opening of the bar in downtown Montgomery.

At CC's, revelers are transported to New Orleans. From the towering, 24-ounce Hurricanes to the jazzy murals featured on the walls, CC's Daiquiris screams Mardi Gras. “This is a business, but it’s a destination," said Ron Simmons with Experience Montgomery.

In the future, Capel hopes to add karaoke and open mic nights. Happy hour is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The shop is open from 3 p.m. to midnight on weekends at 80 Commerce Street.

Capel said she is more than ready for Mardi Gras. "We’ve been ready," she said. "You know, (it's) 365 Mardi Gras."

While she does not have any specific plans for holiday, Capel said CC's will be open for people seeking the Mardi Gras experience.

The goal is “just party. We’re planning to let the good times roll.”
