CDC reports 72% of Middlesex County residents are fully vaccinated

Seventy-two percent of Middlesex County residents are fully vaccinated as of Tuesday, according to data from the the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The CDC considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they've either been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or the second of a two-dose shot (Pfizer or Moderna).

Massachusetts reported 900,985 total cases of the coronavirus this week, an increase of 2% from last week.

Middlesex County has the highest percentage of its population fully vaccinated in Massachusetts. Others in the top five are Norfolk (71%), Suffolk (67%), Essex (67%) and Plymouth (64%).
