Celebrate the '12 days of cookies' with these Canton-area bakeries

'Tis the season of magic and tradition, where cherished customs blend with newfound delights.

Offering a variety of cookies from a local bakery is a great idea for those who want to enjoy delicious treats without the stress of baking.

Today, we're borrowing from the "Twelve Days of Christmas" idea, and are sharing 12 Stark County bakeries that are preparing cookie trays for customers. Perhaps our list will provide a Christmas gift for a friend, or even yourself, in finding a new favorite.

By the way, we know the "Twelve Days of Christmas" doesn’t start until Christmas Day, but we wanted to switch things up a bit so you can order ahead, relax and enjoy the season.

Dec. 6 - Hazel & Rye Bakery Boutique

Tucked in the corner in Easton Plaza across from Walsh College, Hazel & Rye Bakery Boutique offers custom sugar cookies, French macarons, bars and brownies and several holiday specials.

Dec. 7 - Norcia Bakery

Founded in 1918, Norcia Bakery offers small and large cookie trays and a variety of cookie types including butter, sugar cookies, snickerdoodles, iced cut-outs in two sizes, pecan cups.

Johnnie’s bakers offer cookie trays that include small versions of their popular chocolate chip cookies, butterballs, cutouts and more.

This historic bakery in Massillon offers a large selection of cookies, cupcakes and more to satisfy your holiday sweet tooth.

Call ahead and order from their holiday menu that includes dessert trays as well as DIY cookie kits, chocolate dipped Oreos and thumbprints.

Dec. 12 - Aida’s Bakery

Aida’s Bakery offers kolache by the dozen as well as traditional cookies and fruit flavored cookies.

Dec. 13 - Buehler’s Fresh Foods

Employee-owned Buehler’s Fresh Foods offers a selection of individual desserts, cutout cookies and seasonal holiday cookies in their bakery department.

Dec. 14 - The Boarding House

The Boarding House offers freshly made cookies as well as cookie making and decorating supplies. For those who want the sweet scents of cookie baking filling their home purchase their sugar cookie dough or other dough varieties.

Dec. 15 - Sisters Sweet Treats and Bakery

Located in Waynesburg, with ordering only on Facebook or by phone at 330-704-9155. No storefront.

Sisters Sweet Treats sells cookies of all kinds for all occasions. Everything is made to order, and their cutout cookies are a big hit.

Dec. 16 - Fishers Foods

Fishers’ bakers offer a selection of iced sugar cookies, cutout cookies and other holiday treats.

Dec. 17 - Stuffed Pastry

Owner Elisabeth Park is offering cookie trays, a Charlie Brown Christmas sugar cookie box with all the characters, a fudge box, bags of peppermint bark and more.

As Mae West once said, "Too much of a good thing can be wonderful." She may have been referring to cookies.

Dec. 18 - Sweet T's Cafe

Open for eight years in Perry Township, Sweet T's is a family-owned cafe where everything is made from scratch, including their cakes and cookies.

Holiday cookies are available by the dozen, including cutouts, chocolate pixies, gingerbread men, peanut butter blossoms and more.
