Celebrate the arts and be enchanted by the forest with RAAC's annual gala fundraiser on Oct. 7

A magical evening with excellent music is in store for attendees of Richmond Area Arts Council's (RAAC) Annual Art Gala Fundraiser this fall.

The annual gala, RAAC's largest fundraising night of the year, is switching it up with a enchanted forest theme to make their 2022 Arts Gala a fairytale featuring excellent live entertainment and tasty hors d'oevres with tasty (non-alcoholic) refreshments.

The black tie optional event will be held Oct. 7 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m,. at the Keen Johnson ballroom, where attendees can enjoy celebrating the arts and have a ball.

In addition to heavy hors d'oerves, local artists, and entertainment, the silent auction will have a variety of door prizes and goodies for art-appreciating patrons at this year's Arts Gala. Silent auction items for bid will include a plethora of items including original art, gift cards, gift baskets, and more.

There will be performances by Choreographer/Dancer and Troupe Director Safiya Nawaar, The Appalachian Shakespeare Center with EKU, Madison Central Dance Team, the Bluegrass Dance Training Center with The Kristi Miller Band headlining with live entertainment with an eclectic blend of classics and dance songs to encourage guests to get up and participate by dancing.

Robby Robbins and EKU Catering will be providing a mouth watering menu featuring teriyaki beef tips over purple sweet potatoes with grilled pineapple, Chesapeake Bay blue crab cakes with mango salsa and traditional cocktail sauce, sugar-cured beef tenderloin with horseradish and gourmet mustards, roasted vegetable platters with sun-dried tomato hummus, fruit displays, imported cheese platters with dried fruit and nuts, collard green potstickers with apple butter, spanakopita, chili lime chicken skewers, mini cobbler bites, and more. There will be a cash bar available as well.

Parking will be available on EKU's campus by the ravine at the Adams lot (behind the former Alumni House) where a shuttle service will be provided by Combs, Parsons, and Collins Funeral Home to bring guests to the gala's venue. Tickets to attend are priced at $60 per person, RAAC Member tickets are priced at $54 with the 10% membership discount applied
