So what happens when friends at nearby locations hold open houses on the same day? Get ready for a four-stop Christmas crawl across Montgomery's Madison Avenue on Saturday.

"It just kind of snowballed into this idea of Christmas on Madison," said Danae Morgan, director of the Montgomery Cultural Arts Center (formerly the Armory Learning Arts Center).

Here's the suggested path, and some things to do along the way:

1. Visit the Montgomery Curb Market at 1004 Madison Ave. for treats, wreaths and decor. It'll be open from 8 a.m. until noon.

"The Curb Market will have all of their Christmas offerings," Morgan said.

2. Visit the Montgomery Cultural Arts Center, 1018 Madison Ave. for an open house from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Along with a hot chocolate bar, they'll have performing artists (piano, zumba, self-defense and tango), a student art exhibition in the gallery and a reception (with food and festivities), teacher demonstrations (pottery, cooking, painting, sewing, dollmaking, yoga, glass, knitting, book binding and more), a family-friendly Christmas film "Jingle Jangle" (noon on third floor), and life drawing with live models of Christmas characters like the Grinch (this is free, but requires a reservation).

"We fill up those slots quickly with the life drawing," Morgan said.

It should be noted that this facility is operated by the city, and masks will be required.

3. Take in a second open house at Southern Art & Makers Collective, 1228 Madison Ave., and pick up some goodies at Fennel and Figs Baking. Their hours are from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

"Heather (Parrish) will be having an open house with all of her Christmas gifts for sale," Morgan said.

4. Grab some lunch at the Crave Cafe food truck, just past Southern Art & Makers Collective.

Along with the guests, Morgan said singers will be making the circuit as well.

"It's open to the public. We want everybody to come out," Morgan said.
