Pekin downtown concert series

The first concert of Pekin's Downtown Street Party Series will take place Friday, June 17, in the 300 block of Court Street in Pekin. The block party starts at 5 p.m., with food and merchandise vendors. Stone Cold Cowboys begin playing at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Indie Author Book Expo

Celebrate Juneteenth

Peoria's 2022 Juneteenth Fest will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at John H. Gwynn Jr. Park, 809 W. John H. Gwynn Jr. Ave. The event will include a Central vs. Richwoods alumni basketball game, free youth haircuts, fashion show, car show, community awards, elected officials meet and greet, live DJ, music and dance performances, food and merchandise vendors, community resources, horseback rides and more. Admission is free.

Chillicothe Days festival

Chillicothe Days (formerly Claud-Elen Days) will be held June 15-18 at City Park on Second Street in Chillicothe. Activities throughout the weekend will include a carnival, vendor fair and sidewalk sale, fish fry, Mr. and Miss Chillicothe contests, pork chop lunch and dinner, kickball tournament at Three Sisters Park, parade, bags tournament, petting zoo, live entertainment and more. The John C. Flanagan House Museum, 924 NE Glen Oak Ave., will offer buy-one-get-one-free guided tours from 1 to 4 p.m. on Father's Day, Sunday, June 19. The 1837 American Federalist-style house is the oldest standing house in Peoria and includes antiques, period furnishings, vintage tools and kitchen gadgets and memorabilia from Peoria's past. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for college and high school students and $3 for ages 6-12. Proceeds benefit the Peoria Historical Society.
