An Evening with Patricia Barber at 7 p.m. April 28: Renowned Chicago jazz singer and pianist Patricia Barber makes her debut at The Acorn. Long known for her sultry vocals, compelling pianism, and sophisticated songwriting, she has come to be regarded as a significant American composer as well — a deeply visionary artist who blurs the lines between poetry, jazz and art music. The program features original material from her lengthy songbook and covers of jazz standards. The concert is a benefit for Three Oaks’ School of American Music.

Tickets are $125-$100.

The Music of Pat Benatar at 8 p.m. April 29: Local musicians Natalie Gaza, Nikki Gauthier, Meredith George, Abbie Thomas and Kyla Webb sing hits from Pat Benatar’s four-decade career. Tickets are $60-$35 in advance and $65-$40 the day of the show.
