Celebrating Black History: Jessica Coates, first African American CEO of Sacramento Association of Realtors

Throughout the month of February, we are profiling African Americans who have made a significant contribution to Northern California. Jessica Coates has dedicated much of her life to real estate. "It gives me still butterflies," she said. As the first African American chief executive officer in the history of the Sacramento Association of Realtors, she’s looking forward to bringing her experience to the capital city and working with the group’s 8,600 members. "It’s an accomplishment, but that speaks to we still have work to do as well," Coates said. Officially starting the role last August, Coates is building relationships and advocating for policy change to create opportunities for homeownership.
