Rochester area Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Adha Wednesday, June 28. Arabic for "Festival of sacrifice," it marks the close of the Hajj pilgrimage to the Holy Ka’aba in Mecca. The holiday reminds Muslims of the importance of sacrifice, service to humanity and gratefulness to God.

The Islamic Center of Rochester has historically hosted prayers at The Dome Arena in Henrietta. It is not available due to renovations, and instead they will be held in Minett Hall at the Dome Arena, 2695 E. Henrietta Road in Henrietta.

To accommodate congregants in a smaller space, services will be held at 7 a.m., 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The Imam at 7 a.m. will be Dr Rauf Bawany. The second prayer will be led by Dr. Mohammed Shafiq. The third will be led by Islamic Center of Rochester Imam Ajmal Agha.
