Celebrity Big Brother 2017 star Chad Johnson has been arrested on charges of domestic violence and robbery.

According to E! News, Johnson was arrested on Monday afternoon (February 24) after an altercation with his girlfriend Annalise Mishler.

According to Mishler's legal team, the police were called after a neighbour allegedly saw a man pounding on a door and shouting profanities.

The robbery charges are said to come from Johnson reportedly attempting to take her phone while she was calling 911.

It comes after a previous Instagram post from Mishler, in which she claimed he drunkenly punched a hole in the wall of her apartment. "This is the reality of my life," she's heard saying in the video.

Before his arrest, Johnson had expressed his regret over the incident during a TooFab interview on Monday.

"I had a little relapse. Well, I wouldn't call it a little relapse. Big relapse," he said.

"I've been so stressed, man, just sitting in my car crying sometimes, just losing my mind. And to top it all off, the one person I'm closest to doesn't get me a lot of times. I just lost it.

"I screwed up 1,000%. You can't take that kind of stuff back."

On the claims that he punched a hole in the wall of Mishler's apartment, he said: "I don't remember technically seeing her. I drank to the point where I didn't even know I was with her. I just gotta take the Instagram Story's word that I was there."

Johnson has since been released from jail on bond, and is due back in court on March 17. He has yet to comment publicly following his arrest.
