Fall is here, which means it's officially time to swap out your summer wardrobe for some wooly knits ─ but your wardrobe doesn't have to be the only thing that changes with the weather. Fall is the perfect season to try out a new hairstyle, play with adding a few hair accessories, or even go for a complete revamp with a new color.

If you're thinking about changing things up but don't know where to begin, we're here to help. We reached out to celebrity hairstylists Larry Sims and Vernon François to find out the most popular hairstyles this fall.

But while we want to provide you with a bit of inspiration, obviously everyone has a different hair texture, face shape and hair length, so feel free to add your own spin on these trends.

"I am a huge advocate of encouraging people to explore the uniqueness of their own hair," says François "I encourage you to use these ideas as a starting point for putting your own stamp on, not a cookie-cutter guide."

A curly bob is a great go-to style if you're looking for a cut that is easy to maintain. The shape frames the face nicely, and the length can be adjusted to suit your features. "A hairstylist who is experienced in working with your hair texture will be able to give you the best advice on what works for you, your hair, and your lifestyle," says François. "My friends @emmadabiri and @sophia_roe are rocking this hairstyle particularly well right now, hats off to the hairdressers who created these for them."

Box Braids

Braids, braids, and more braids! Braids aren't going anywhere any time soon, so, if you're rocking this style, you're still on-trend. Expect to see more colors, structural looks, and super bohemian braid moments like Zoe Kravitz's look for the MET Gala.

"Braids are so easy and low maintenance. The demand for braids has increased from a fall style to all year-round, simply because they last so long," says Sims. "People are opting for no stress, carefree styles." As so many of us love this style, it's important to make sure you maintain it regularly to prevent breakage, says Sims. "Flawless by Gabrielle Union Exotic Hair Oil Treatment is great for keeping the hair and scalp moisturized whilst in braids."

Curly Bangs

Curly bangs are having a significant moment right now. People with curls, coils and waves are realizing that bangs aren't just for those with long, straight hair. "Curly bangs are great for fall as they can enhance your overall look when wearing hats," says François. However, the hairstylist says always remember to have your bangs cut according to your face shape and hair length, and keep the length long enough to allow room for shrinkage.

Super Sleek

Super sleek hair is trending this season ─ and regardless of your hair texture, the right products can help you achieve the look. "Whether you opt for a sleek ponytail or a bun, less is more with this style, and it really helps to accentuate and highlight the face," says Sims.

Seasonal Colors

Fact: a new hair color can completely change your look, enhance dull skin, and give any style a little edge. Basically, coloring your hair could be the answer if you're contemplating a little fall hair revamp.

"Nature is a major inspiration for me, and now is a great time to embrace colors that reflect the season, like earthy tans, fiery reds, and burnt oranges," says François. "Look out for Redken's new Color Gels Lacquers 10 Minute, which gives one hundred percent grey coverage in just ten minutes, I love using these on my clients."

Embellished Headbands

Just when you thought the headband trend was over, it's back! But this time with embellishments. "I'm seeing more pearls being worn by my clients, on hair clips and headbands," says François. "Accessories are a great way to instantly transform your entire look. The statement headband has had a moment in 2021 and it's continuing as we move away from 'lockdown casual'. Dr @AtehJewel wears headbands fabulously."

The Bob

The bob is always on-trend, and this season we'll see it in all different shapes and textures, including the triangle cut, the fringe cut and the long bob aka the lob. "To maintain a bob, I recommend shampooing with Flawless by Gabrielle Union Hydrating Detangling Shampoo followed by Flawless By Gabrielle Union 3 Minute Restoring Conditioner and Flawless by Gabrielle Union Leave In Detangling Conditioner," says Sims. "Let it air dry, and you're ready to go!"
