A Celebrity Trainer Shared More of His Best 30-Day Plan to Get Shredded

If New Year’s is the time for making resolutions about who you want to be in the coming 365 days, mid-January is often the time of re-evaluating what kind of progress you’ve made so far. And that’s where we join Magnus Lygdback, a celebrity trainer who helped Ben Affleck get into bat-shape, Gal Gadot take on Wonder Woman, and James McAvoy become a true beast for M. Night Shyamalan.

Lygdback opened 2022 with what he called a “life-changing” 30-day challenge, inviting his YouTube audience to join him for the next four weeks. “The goal of this challenge is to shred as much fat as possible and gain as much muscle mass as possible in 30 days,” Lygdback says, directing anyone who’s interested to check out the details on his app.

Each week consists of four days of strength training that includes high-intensity interval training (HIIT), a day of cardio (optional), and two rest days that can be any time during the week. He also recommends consuming fewer calories than you burn during the day, and his method includes macros designed to make that easier.

In week four, Lygdback previews some of the upcoming exercises, including close-grip barbell bench press and barbell bicep curl, talking through his demonstrations of proper form for each exercise. He explains the progressions for this week and reinforces the importance of diet when it comes to getting shredded. “This is the last week of the challenge,” Lygdback says, “and I’m so excited to see the progress that you’ve made.”
