SM Entertainment reveals new boy band, NCT

SM Entertainment's new boy band, NCT, has been unveiled.

On January 27th, 'SMTOWN: New Culture Technology 2016' at COEX ATIUM in Samsung-dong, Souel, and SM Entertainment's chief producer Lee Soo Man unveiled SM Entertainment's new boy band, NCT.

Producer Lee said, "NCT stands for 'Neo Culture Technology,' and the group could be characterized by 'openness' and 'expandability.' Under the brand of ‘NCT (Neo Culture Technology)’ different teams will debut based in different countries around the world, and a great number of different collaborations and unit groups will be introduced, allowing for movement of members and new recruits into the groups."

Producer Lee added, "There also won’t be a set member number for these groups."

According to producer Lee, the first unit group will debut in this spring, and the group will hold activities mainly in Seoul and Japan during the first half of the year. Another team will debut in the later half of the year, and hold activities in China.

Meanwhile, Kim Min Jong, BoA, and Kang Ta also attended 'SMTOWN: New Culture Technology, 2016' with producer Lee Soo Man.
