Celine Dion wears iconic Titanic necklace during Couture Fashion Week
More than two decades after the release of Titanic, Celine Dion has been spotted wearing the film’s iconic blue diamond necklace.
On Wednesday, the 51-year-old singer stepped out in Paris during Haute Couture Fashion Week wearing the accessory which featured in the 1997 blockbuster hit.
But, while the necklace looks like strikingly similar to the one worn by Kate Winslet’s character, Rose DeWitt Bukater, it is actually an imitation designed by luxury French fashion label Vetements – a brand known for creating copycat garments.
The replica first made an appearance on the runway of Vetements’s spring/summer 2020 show which was held in a McDonald's branch on the Champs-Elysées in June.
A male model sported the jewel with a T-shirt emblazoned with the words, “I love Paris,” and the name “Hilton” written underneath in a reference to reality star and socialite Paris Hilton.
Dion paired the standout jewel with the same T-shirt, as well as an oversized grey blazer and skirt by the same brand.
The singer completed her look with a black Balenciaga chain-strap bag, pointed-toe heels and sunglasses.

This isn’t the first time Dion has worn a replica of the "Heart of the Ocean" necklace.
In 1998, Dion wore an Asprey and Garrard re-creation of the fictional 56-carat blue diamond to the Oscars, when her hit single “My Heart Will Go On” was nominated for, and won, Best Original Song.
The necklace played a pivotal role in the film and was worn by Winslet’s character who threw the piece of jewellery into the sea.
The film was based off of the story of the Titanic, which sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in 1912 after colliding with an iceberg.
Dion has paid a fashion homage to Titanic before.
In 2016, the singer famously wore Vetements's oversized hoodie, which featured an image of the movie's poster, with skinny jeans and Gucci sandal as she made her way to Paris for the haute couture shows.

Dion’s eccentric wardrobe has arguably made her the star of Couture Fashion Week this season too.
After concluding her residency in Las Vegas in June, Dion has attended almost every show on the schedule while wearing a host of showstopping outfits designed by everyone from Iris van Herpen and Gucci to Chanel.

One ensemble saw her wearing a Ronald van der Kemp dress with a black-and-white tuxedo jacket top and frilly yellow miniskirt, which she accessorised with mismatched Jimmy Choo heels.
Other standout outfits include a 3D printed gown by Dutch designer Iris van Herpen, a printed bodysuit and blazer by Off-White and a black Chanel catsuit complete with a logo belt.
