Celtics injury update: Brown, Tatum available vs. Bulls; Smart, Walker questionable

The Boston Celtics had perhaps gotten used to having an especially short injury report in recent days as they extended their league-longest winning streak to six games, but it seems that that trend has started jogging in the direction of the Hospital Celtics again, if but for a short while (we hope).

For some time, the only name on the report was veteran shooting guard Evan Fournier, out for an extended spell in the NBA’s health and safety protocols. A non COVID illness has been going around the team however, threatening several players (most recently All-Star forward Jaylen Brown and starting point guard Kemba Walker) with a forced night off.

Big man Robert Williams III has missed a few games now with a sore knee, and All-NBA swingman Jayson Tatum was listed as questionable with a left ankle impingement.

Today, Boston upgraded Tatum and Brown to available, but added Smart to Walker as guards questionable for the tilt against the Chicago Bulls Monday night.

Fournier and Williams will remain out.
