Centennial fends off Fort Pierce Central for fifth straight win

Boys Basketball

Centennial 93, Fort Pierce Central 90: Ty Owens scored a game-high 28 points as the Eagles (14-3) held off the Cobras to win their fifth straight game. Joesph Lezeau II scored 22 points and Fresh Walters added 21 points, reaching 1,000 career points in the process for Centennial.

Sami Rahman scored 27 points in the loss for the Cobras (10-5)

Port St. Lucie 62, Eau Gallie 56: Makel Dickerson scored a game-high 20 points to lead the way for the Jaguars (10-10). Ryan Rodriguez scored 12 points and added four assists, Allen Graham had 10 points, seven rebounds and blocked seven shots, Samir Norman added nine points and Don Mixson scored eight points for Port St. Lucie, who used a 28-7 second quarter to get back in the game after falling behind by 13 after the opening quarter.

Boys Soccer

Centennial 1, Treasure Coast 0: Chris Djambazian scored the lone goal of the match from an assist by Ramiro Gamez to lead the Eagles (7-6-2). Jorge Rojas made four saves to hold a clean sheet in goal for Centennial.

Girls Soccer

Fort Pierce Central 3, Heritage 0: Abbey Brosnihan scored a goal and assisted on another as the Cobras (7-6-5) moved over .500 on the season. Cassidy Olszewski and Mariah Matta each scored one goal, Skylar Monroe and Emma Brosnihan picked up one assist each and Taylor Osborn made nine saves to hold a clean sheet for Fort Pierce Central.

King’s Academy 7, John Carroll Catholic 1: Jenna Langel scored the lone goal of the match for the Rams (7-4-1) off an assist from Kaley Brancaccio. Kate Diaz made 10 saves in goal for John Carroll.
