Centennial junior Tess Fuqua named Gatorade Player of the Year

LAS CRUCES - Centennial junior volleyball player Tess Fuqua was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for New Mexico, this week.

Fuqua, a University of Arizona commit and two-time first-team All State player, is the first volleyball player from Centennial to be named the Gatorade Player of the Year.

Fuqua had offers from UNLV and Lamar after averaging 6.9 kills per set and hit 56 percent for the Hawks this season.

Fuqua was named the District Player of the Year as a junior and she posted a 3.71 grade point average in the classroom.
