Central Avenue Elementary School was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after an unknown man walked onto campus, the school said in a tweet.

The school said law enforcement took the man into custody.

It’s not immediately clear who the man was or what he was doing.

“Every precaution has been taken to ensure student and staff safety at all times,” the school said in a tweet. “There is no need for parents to come to the school to pick up their children early. Parents are being notified by a call-out message, and they will receive a 2nd message when the lockdown is lifted.”

A spokesman for Kissimmee police did not immediately respond for comment.
