Central ekes past Palisade on the court

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — On a big Thursday night of hoops, Central beat Palisade in both Girls’ and Boys’ basketball.

It was an extremely tight fight on the Boys’ side between the Bulldogs and the Warriors. Palisade led 18-10 after a low-scoring first half. But the Warriors found the gear in half two, making the key plays late to escape with the 38-37 win. Central gets to 9-7, as Palisade falls to 6-11.

And on the Girls’ side the Warriors have won a staggering 6 games in a row. Just three weeks ago this team was 2-8. Now, they’re at .500. Remarkable.

And at Grand Junction High School, the GJ Tigers used a powerful second half to down the Demons of Glenwood Springs 45-33. GJ gets to 12-5.
