Central Florida officials want you to recycle those campaign signs after Tuesday’s elections
Central Florida counties and cities are asking residents to recycle campaign signs after next week’s mid-term election.
City of Orlando
The City of Orlando is working with local sustainability partners to recycle the signs instead of letting them end up in landfills.
Most campaign signs are made from polypropylene and can be recycled and used in new products.
Orlando residents can bring their signs to the following locations:
Nov. 9 to Nov. 20, starting at noon.
Andes Campus — 202 Andes Avenue
The Packing District Farmers’ Market — 2314 North Orange Blossom Trail
Broadway Methodist Church — 406 East Amelia Street
First Unitarian Church of Orlando — 1901 East Robinson Street
Specialty Collection at Local Farmers’ Markets:
Orlando Farmers’ Market — 20 North Eola Drive at Lake Eola Park
Sunday, Nov. 13 — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 20 — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Audubon Park Community Market — 1842 East Winter Park Road
Monday, November 14 — 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Seminole County
Seminole County Solid Waste, the League of Women Voters of Seminole County, and PureCycle Technologies Inc. are partnering to collect and recycle campaign signs.
Seminole County residents can bring their signs to the following location:
Nov. 9 to Nov. 19
Central Transfer Station, 1950 FL-419, Longwood
7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Saturday (Closed Sunday)
