Frank Lloyd Wright architecture tour at Florida Southern College

Step on the campus of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, to experience the largest collection of work by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright in the world. The collection boasts thirteen completed structures, including the Usonian House, which was originally designed in 1939. The house was completed based on Wright’s design in 2013.

There are paid tours, as well as self-guided walking tours. For more art on campus, visit the Polk Museum of Art, which houses a permanent collection of Pre-Columbian artifacts, rotating exhibits in eight galleries and a sculpture garden.

LEGOLAND Florida Resort

Bring the entire family for fun-filled days at one of the largest LEGOLAND Parks on earth. There are over 50 rides, attractions and shows on the 150-acre property. Explore the park to find LEGO models, such as Mainland USA, Pirates’ Cove, DUPLO Village and Mainland USA.

The theme park opened in 2011 and since then has upgraded to have LEGOLAND Water Park, THE LEGO MOVIE WORLD, LEGO NINJAGO World and more. Pirate River Quest recently opened on January 12.

Bask in nearly 700 acres of gardens and conservation lands dating back to 1929 at Bok Tower Gardens. This National Historic Landmark is located on one of the highest points of peninsular Florida, where you’ll find plants and animals only in that area. In addition to nature, enjoy daily carillon concerts, an edible garden, an outdoor kitchen, hiking trails and more.

The reserve is free to visit and educates visitors at the on-site Polk Nature Discovery Center. If you’re interested in seeing a gator or two, check out the 1.2 mile Alligator Alley Trail overlooking Lake Hancock.
