Central IL firefighters dive into water rescue training

RANTOUL, Ill. (WCIA) — Thursday night was a training night for several fire departments in Central Illinois.

Rantoul’s Christopher Rudzinski Memorial Park pond served as the training ground for firefighters to practice water rescue operations. Training was led by the Cornbelt Fire Protection District’s Dive Team. Participants included fire departments and protection districts from Rantoul, Thomasboro, Ludlow, Gifford and Sangamon Valley.

Ahead of the training, Rantoul Fire Department shared on Facebook that anyone was welcome to come out and witness the event.
