Central Illinois Regional Airport has been around since the 1920s, when the airfield was privately owned, according to its website.

The airport was officially dedicated in 1934 and is officially governed by the Bloomington-Normal Airport Authority, which was formed in 1964.

There are over 70 miles of pavement on the airfield side alone, while over 700 acres of the airport's property are leased for farming, according to the website. Nearly 90 hangars of various sizes are leased to private owners.

Short-term parking for two hours or less is available in front of the terminal building. Long-term parking is unlimited for anything over two hours and is available as long as travelers use an airline or car rental service.

A complimentary parking shuttle is available to travelers by using the designated phone in the baggage claim area or calling (866) 967-2472.

Hours for the shuttle are:

  • 4 a.m. to the last arriving flight, Sunday and Wednesday.

  • 4 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

  • 10 a.m. to the last arriving flight on Saturday.
