Junior Devin Royal had a pair of strong performances over the weekend for Pickerington Central, which is tied for second in the Division I state poll. In a 44-40 victory over Reynoldsburg on Jan. 14, Royal finished with 22 points. He then scored 27 in a 62-36 win over Garfield Heights on Jan. 16 in Flyin’ to the Hoop at Kettering Fairmont.

Jonathan Alder senior Mary Ferrito scored the 1,000th point of her prep career and finished with 27 points in a 44-38 loss to Watkins Memorial on Jan. 15. The next day, she had 20 points in a 38-30 victory over Hilliard Davidson. Ferrito also scored 17 in a 53-35 victory over Urbana on Jan. 12.
