Alexa Machol and Watterson have vaulted into this week's girls basketball Super 7 poll.

Four of the teams ranked in last week’s boys Super 7 suffered at least one loss, but the only movement in the rankings is with the bottom two spots.

Central Ohio high school basketball: Five things we learned from MLK weekend

Westerville South and Pickerington Central, which are tied for second in the Division I state poll, are ranked Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, in the Super 7, with fifth-ranked Gahanna Lincoln at No. 3 and 10th-ranked Upper Arlington at No. 5. Pickerington North remains fourth in the Super 7.

Newark, which has won nine in a row, and Hilliard Bradley, which is on an eight-game winning streak, jump into the boys rankings in the final two spots.

In the girls Super 7, the top two spots remain the same.

Pickerington Central has lost four of five and is 9-6 but has had the most challenging schedule of any team in central Ohio over the last two weeks as it drops from third to fifth.

Granville, which is the only undefeated area girls team, moves up to third and Newark is now fourth, with Watterson joining the rankings at No. 6 after beating previously undefeated Hartley.

Worthington Christian, which lost to the state’s No. 3 team in Division II, Kettering Alter, 46-35 on Jan. 15, checks in at No. 7.
