Centre Hall Fire Company responds to camper fire during Centre County Grange Fair move-in

A camper caught fire during move-in Sunday at the Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair in Centre Hall.

Centre Hall Fire Company was dispatched to the fairgrounds around 3:25 p.m. and put the fire out within minutes.

The camper, owned by Joel and Kristi Brinker of Spring Mills, caught fire at 3:20 p.m. Neighbors first spotted the smoke, removed the propane tanks and sprayed the camper until firefighters arrived. A firefighter on site saw flames coming through the roof of the camper, according to the Centre County Emergency Alerts and Information Facebook page.

During the fair, the fire company has several pieces of equipment on site in case it’s needed but because the fair has not officially begun, firefighters responded from the fire hall.

Grange Fair opens Friday and runs until Aug. 27.
