Centre woman dies of injuries from single-vehicle crash Sunday

A Centre woman died from injuries she sustained in a single-vehicle crash Sunday evening in Cherokee County, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency state troopers.

Norma D. Richardson, 42, was injured when the 2008 Nissan Altima she was driving left the roadway, hit a culvert and overturned. She was taken to Cherokee Medical Center where she died from her injuries, troopers said. She was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to troopers.

The crash occurred on Cherokee County Road 22 near Cherokee County Road 685, about 8 miles east of Centre.

Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
