CEO named for Asnuntuck Community College
Mar. 25—The Board of Regents for Higher Education today named a chief executive officer for Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield, along with four other schools, as part of its continued effort to merge the state's 12 community colleges into a single institution.
Each of the new CEOs will earn $155,250 and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the schools, information from the board says. They will start June 4.
Asnuntuck's new chief will be a familiar face in Michelle Coach, who has headed the school as interim CEO and has overseen the campus through the pandemic. She's been at the school in various capacities at least since 2015, working with the state Correction Department to offer Second Chance courses to inmates, serving as interim dean of academic affairs, and chairing and co-chairing several committees.
She received her bachelor's in biology from Westfield State University, a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, a master's in biology from the University of St. Joseph, and an Ed.D. from NorthCentral University in educational leadership.
The other CEOs named today are: Lisa Dresdner at Naugatuck Valley Community College, Cheryl DeVonish at Norwalk Community College, Karen Hynick at Quinebaug Valley Community College, and Darryl Reome at Tunxis Community College.
