In an emailed statement, the Milwaukee Health Department said health inspectors found that the store had addressed items the department considered priorities.

"MHD will continue to perform follow up inspections in the near future to ensure those concerns continue to be taken care of, at which point MHD will post Cermak’s food establishment grade," the department said in its statement.

The store was ordered to close Feb. 6 after health inspectors found violations that included live roaches, rodent droppings and signs of damage to products by pests. An inspection report obtained by the Journal Sentinel documented 23 health code violations.
