The ‘Black Panther’ star died in August at the age of 43 without leaving a will.

Taylor Simone Ledward, the widow of Chadwick Boseman, has been named the administrator with “limited authority” of the late actor’s estate, worth an estimated $938,500.

theGRIO previously reported, Ledward petitioned the court in October to name her executor of the estate after the Black Panther star died in August without a will.

In California, the law states that the surviving spouse has the right to claim the deceased’s estate. Ledward can appoint an administrator of Boseman’s property if she is unable or unwilling to serve the role.

As administrator, she would also be responsible to settle any creditor’s claims and debt that Boseman owes.

The beloved actor died at his home on Aug. 28 after a secret four-year battle with colon cancer. He and Ledward were married before his passing, which was confirmed by his family in the statement announcing his death.

“He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side,” the statement revealed, ET reported.

An earlier report on theGRIO noted that Boseman and Ledward were first seen together in 2015 soon after Ledward graduated from California State Polytechnic University Pomona, where she majored in music industry studies.

Boseman died without any children, so his assets will reportedly be equally divided between Ledward and Chadwick’s parents, Carolyn and Leroy Boseman.

During the 2019 NAACP Image Awards, Boseman thanked Ledward in his speech while accepting the award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for his portrayal of King T’Challa in Black Panther.

“You know what they say. Black people always thank God when they win and I’m not going to let you down,” he said at the time.

“Thank you, God, for not just winning,” he continued. “Thank you, God, for the trials and tribulations that you allow us to go through so we can appreciate these moments. So we can appreciate the joy that comes from winning.”

“Simone, you’re with me every day. I have to acknowledge you right now. Love you,” Boseman added. Ledward mouthed back the words, “I love you.”

After his death, Boseman was celebrated with a ceremony honoring his life in his hometown of Anderson, South Carolina.
